At a time like this, during a pandemic, crisis management should be at the forefront of your mind.

We need to begin the preparations for our future and making sure our crisis management strategies are adaptable no matter what is thrown at us.

Below are 3 adaptable techniques to use when leading through a crisis. These are easy to remember and adaptable.

1. Acknowledge the situation
When things are changing quickly the one thing that helps us maintain a sense of control is information. Pretending it it not happening will not make it go away!

2.⁣ Be available
It is important for leaders to be accessible during a crisis. Have regular touch points with each person, let them know you are listening and how they can best reach you.

3. Do not sweat the small stuff
Having so much on your minds already, there is no need to add more stress and anxiety to your lives by micromanaging or obsessing over perfection.
Encourage your team to focus on their priorities, everything else can wait until later…

There is no such thing as being too prepared when it comes to crisis management. Sure, you might not be able to predict the exact scenario you will face, but at the very least you can take a detailed look at your organisation and anticipate its vulnerabilities.
