As John C. Maxwell once said:
“The true measure of leadership is influence, nothing more and nothing less”
Leadership is not about a title. You can have the title and still not be a leader. Influence does not come from your position! Let me make that clear. If you do not care about people, you cannot influence them. If you are unable to influence others, you cannot lead. Simple maths here.
Do you encourage, engage and amplify others? If so, you are already a leader. Even if the title is missing.
If you embrace learning, speaking up and are able to focus on what can be done rather than the problem. Then you are a leader, no matter your title.
Leaders share and teach.
What is something you have taught more than one person? How do your team view you? Do they look up to you?
Think about the big picture here, because that is what leaders do.
Learn to differentiate the people that are leading you from their position, verses those you follow because of their ability to lead.
