Introspective Leadership

Introspective Leadership

  • July 21, 2021

Leadership is mostly outward focused. That’s why some of the best leaders invest a great deal of time in inward focus, to increase their outward focus value.

To begin the introspective journey, in every situation you’ll have to ask yourself:

  1. What don’t I know about this?
  2. What is my learning opportunity in this?
  3. How does this decision align with our mission?
  4. What are both the long term and immediate impacts of this?
  5. What can I do to best serve my team/employees?
  6. How can I ensure my direct reports feel valued?

Leadership is powerful. It can inspire us to do things we never thought imaginable. It can motivate a team, achieve exponential returns, and push a business to succeed. Good leadership is the most important competitive advantage a company can have and introspection plays a great role in this.
