It’s important for us to know if our work environment is encouraging growth, or limiting it.
Your work environment doesn’t necessarily have to be ”toxic” to be bad for you.
When you’re evaluating and determining if it’s the right place for you to thrive, grow and succeed, there are a few key things to keep in mind:
This is also a great conversation for you to have with any employees who are perhaps in the wrong role, going in the wrong direction or considering leaving.
Challenge them to evaluate their work environment and how they contribute to making it better, or if it’s time to accept this probably isn’t the right job/career for them.
This is a 50/50 effort. Leaders have a duty to make our work environment as thriving, fulfilling and inspiring as possible – but it’s up to us to speak up when we feel this isn’t happening, and it’s up to us to try and change it.
